Before They Knew…
I could see them ❤️
Before they knew
who they were,
I could see them.
They watched.
They played.
They spoke.
They created.
They were becoming…
They stepped forward.
They held back.
I noticed
who waited,
afraid to take
the first step.
Who threw
themselves
right in.
Who was
young but wise,
old but young.
And me,
not wanting
or
needing to
change them…
Only
to keep
them
safe
and
steady.
Secure
and
sure.
Keeping watch,
before the world
would ask them,
to harden
or
to hurry…
or
change.
For I knew
what was waiting…
unfolding,
and
slowly,
slowly,
finding
its way,
Into their precious world…💛

Wow such a beautiful piece written about teachers 🥺💕✨ I could relate to his because I've recently applied on a job for teaching a primary section. 🪄 I loved this poem. 🎀 Made me remember , Mr Keating from The Dead Poets Society.
Tender and loving as it should be.
😊
